Youth Pastor

Shane Atkinson

Shane Atkinson has served as Student Pastor at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church since July, 2012. He surrendered to the ministry in the summer of 2007. He is married to Sarah (Murry) Atkinson from Greenbrier, AR.

Shane graduated from Central Baptist College in 2013 with his Bachelors of Arts in Bible with emphasis in Youth Ministry. His goal is to see each student thrive in their relationship with Christ. The vision for his ministry comes from Matthew 5. He hopes to challenge all of his students to become like salt and light.

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16)
